In the beginning…

I figured the first real post of the site should be a little bit about myself. Much of this, probably all of it will be echoed the About page as well. There should be more details there though. This is going to be the Cliff Notes version. Hopefully you know what Cliff Notes are. If not, you’ve never crammed for an English test on some dead author you have no intention of ever reading or remembering again after the test.

Welcome to my new and hopefully improved blog site.

My name is Chris Anderson, I’ve been programing in one form or another for roughly 30 years now. I have been a Microsoft MVP for Visual Basic for 6 years. You can view my profile here. I’ve worked with virtually all version of VB since 3.0, and currently I use VB2008/2010 (when I can). In addition to working with VB, I’ve also worked with Pascal, Ada, C/C++/C#, and even some COBOL. I’m also a frequent user of SQL, PHP, HTML and XML.

My goal is to never stop learning. Part of that learning process of mine is helping others, which is what this site will hopefully be about. With any tutorials that I provide, I will ensure to note what versions of the .NET Framework is targeted. Unless I’m doing something in the 4.0 version of the framework, everything will be done using Visual Studio 2008. I have a variety of reasons for this, which will probably be the subject of another post.
